Our second annual seminar series celebrates the craft of music production in the lead up to the VNZMA Artisan Awards (Massey University, Mon 4 Nov) and the Vodafone NZ Music Awards (Spark Arena, Thurs 14 Nov). We’re really pleased to be announcing 15 amazing speakers from across the spectrum of music creation, audio production, design, film making, PR, marketing and management. The Producer Series brings internationally renowned producers Andrew Scheps and Mark Rankin to New Zealand to work with the country’s best studio professionals on recording and mixing masterclasses. In the 21st century digital music industry, the role of a designer has dramatically changed from what it was only a decade ago. This panel will discuss how designing for music projects can provide designers with different creative challenges, and how that can be beneficial for other areas of their practice; as well as considering what artists need to consider when planning a campaign.

In order to capture the eyeballs of audiences, an artist requires arresting filmed content. Traditional short form music videos are increasingly being taken over by trailers, interstitials and other filmed content. Our Q&A session will discuss the plethora of platforms and formats required, how to plan out a video & marketing campaign and how to deliver that.
