The organisers of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards regret to advise that the two Finalists Showcase performances this month – in Wellington and Christchurch – have been cancelled.
The decision is due to the Christchurch earthquake necessitating the cancellation of the September 17 concert, and this means the tour is no longer viable. The Wellington showcase was scheduled to take place on September 16.
RIANZ and the VNZMA have pledged their support to disaster relief and are currently investigating appropriate fundraising avenues.
People who have bought tickets to the Finalists Showcases will be able to get a full refund from Ticketek.

Hi im a huge fan of NZ music and a huge fan of Dane Rumble.I can not see why you cant postpone the concert instead of canceling it. I live in Christchurch and the only thing that was getting me asleep at night and keeping my mind off all the dreadfull aftershocks was this concert. Even if you didnt postpone it you should atleast do something for the people who brought the tickets or even if you do a relief concert in Christchurch and contact the people who brought tickets and involve them in some way like give them backstage passes or something along thoose lines. Thanks Mikayla
